  • JAL (Japan Airlines) is the only one airline company which operates flights from Haneda (Tokyo) to Nanki-Shirahama airport three round trips a day. 75 minutes, reference price 17,190JPY. The official site of JAL
    You should take a bus to Yunomine Onsen at Kii-Tanabe station because there is only a few buses depart from Shirahama station.

  • Shinkansen
  • It takes about 1 hour 40 minutes from Tokyo station to Nagoya station, costs 10,360JPY. Wide View Nanki is the best way to go to Shingu station from Nagoya station. It takes about 3 hours 30 minutes, 6,870JPY. Nanki/Kumano Kodo Free Ticket mentioned as below is the cheapest way if you plan to spend in Yunomine for 3 days.

  • Bus
  • Night buses are available between Omiya, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Yokohama to Shingu station. It takes about 9 hours 30 minutes, costs 10,000JPY from Shinjuku to Shingu station. There are also buses to Tanabe station available. How to access Shingu station to Yunomine Onsen by bus. It takes 1 hour 10 minnutes, costs 1,540JPY.     It's a bargain bus ticket if you come to Yunomine Onsen, Hongu Shrine from Shingu station.

  • Nanki/Kumano Kodo Free Ticket

    It's a great deal train and bus ticket if you come to Yunomine Onsen, Hongu Shrine from Nagoya station. The fare is different according to the boarding section.
    From Nagoya station, Adult: 9,780JPY, Child: 4,890JPY / Validity: 3 days (except for 27 April to 6th May, 11 to 20 August, 28 December to 6 January)

Access to Yunomine Onsen by Walking

Yunomine Onsen is located in between Akagi-goe and Dainichi-goe on Nakahechi route "The Imperial Route to Kumano" of Kumano Kodo pilgrimage network. The Dainichi-goe route is a short (3.5 km/2.17 miles) but relatively steep trail over Mt. Dainichi that links Kumano Hongu Taisha with Yunomine Onsen. It takes about 90~120 minutes including breaks.
